Ghana ladies Trash oluwale
Ghana Ladies supported by the African counterparts went home after Saturday’s GhAMa Family picnic, chest(or maybe breast) out; and with the bragging rights after they trashed their Oluwale counterparts by a 2:1 margin in the tug-of-war contest. In the words of an observer “the women did not just beat the men; in fact they dragged them”.
The much hyped contest which was the highlight of the picnic was nearly marred by the intermittent downpour but both groups determined to win, braved the odds to attend the picnic and get ready for the showdown. The contest delayed for 1 hour as members of the Oluwale underwent medical screening. Meanwhile the women in an unassuming posture, sat quietly enjoying some drinks and food. GhAManet investigations revealed that the women had filled their soda cans with energy boosters but the men were deceived into thinking they were mere soda. In fact, it was the captain of the men’s team Mr. Amegashie who called for the contest. In a typical Goliathian call, Godwin, a 6/7 feet 280lbs captain dared the women to come forth and face a humiliating defeat from the men! For a moment the women were cowed into fear until they got the full complement of their team and stood up to the challenge.
The first two rounds of the contest resulted in a 1:1 score necessitating a 3rd round to be the decider. The women employed all the subtle moves and tactics they inherited from Grandma Eve including: tying their end of the rope to the tree, luring the men to take the hilly side of the terrain, sending some key players of the oluwale team on errands, and managing to kick out all the aspiring Oluwales; moves which can best be described as “elimination by rough tactics”. With this groundwork done, the women had the upper hand when the referee signalled for the commencement of hostilities. Their pull was strong enough to literally drag the Oluwales’ on the grass, a number of whom had to be hurried into a waiting ambulance to the ER. In fact the men could be seen from afar lying flat to their backs with their limbs flying in the air - typical batman acrobatics.
As the crowd applauded and chanted praises to the women, the obedient men who went on errands arrived and like the Biblical 5 maidens, their arrival was too late to save the situation. They tried their best to annul the game for a re-match but the women would have none of that. Meanwhile, the men have filed a complaint with the GhAMa BoD with charges including: fielding unqualified players, contesting under the influence of “energy-enhancing-drugs” and bias officiating! All their players have been called to camp in preparation for a possible showdown at the AAM/AWA picnic should this match be annulled. GhAManet would keep you updated with later development!
In the other games, Dr. Kobby Amuah was declared Ludu Champion. The Oware rematch between Rev. Anane and Abdul Rauf was called for the former because Rauf, scared of the new skills of the Reverend, failed to show up. Vickie Cann mesmerised Kwaku Addai-Mununkum in another Oware contest but could not totally defeat him. The boborbor group stole the entertainment show with their unrehearsed choreographed dance!
